The X1 from FiiO caters to music lovers who want to listen to high-resolution audio on the go. This compact lossless audio player features a Texas Instrument DAC (PCM5142) and Intersil amplifier. Pro Quality DAC and Amp
Utilizes Texas Instrument’s newest PCM5142 DAC, greatly surpassing the integrated DAC Chips in smartphones, tablets, and computers. The X1 also employs Intersil’s ISL28291 for its amplification circuit.

Line Output
X1 has enough power to drive headphones directly, or it can be set to provide line output instead. Switching between the two is easy via a menu section. Using line output, you can expand the X1 by bundling it with dedicated headphone amplifier such as E11K/A3 or E12.

Complete Format Support
The X1 support the major lossless music formats, APE, FLAC, WAV, WMA, ALAC, at up to 192kHz/24bits of master quality resolution. Plus MP3, AAC, OGG VORBIS. The X1 has a microSD slot that supports SDXC cards, currently up to 128GB, large enough to hold your entire music library.

Amazing. I have several friends that own this device. They all sound amazing. Unfortunately I received a defective unit that would not play several lossless formats that were listed to be compatible. I ended up purchasing the FiiO X3-II which solved all the issues. If looking to purchase this unit I would strongly suggest looking at the FiiO X3-II or X5.
